Before You Delete

Please consider the following before deleting your account:

Cancel Your Subscription First

If you have a Pro subscription, deleting your account does not automatically cancel your subscription. You must cancel separately through:

• iOS: Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions > Zain > Cancel
• Android: Google Play Store > Menu > Subscriptions > Zain > Cancel

If you don't cancel your subscription, you may continue to be charged even after deleting your account.

Export Your Data

Before deleting, you may want to export your data. In the Zain app, go to Settings > Account > Export Data to download a copy of your habits, notes, and reading history.

Consider Taking a Break Instead

If you're just looking for a break, you can pause your habits or simply stop using the app without deleting your account. Your data will be saved if you decide to return.

How to Delete Your Account

Option 1: Delete from the App (Recommended)

The easiest way to delete your account is directly from the Zain app:

1. Open the Zain app
2. Go to Settings (gear icon)
3. Tap Account
4. Scroll down and tap Delete Account
5. Read the warning message carefully
6. Enter your password to confirm
7. Tap Delete My Account

Your account will be marked for deletion immediately, and all data will be permanently removed within 30 days.

Option 2: Request Deletion via Email

If you cannot access the app, you can request account deletion by email:

1. Send an email to support@thezainapp.com
2. Use the subject line: "Account Deletion Request"
3. Include the email address associated with your Zain account
4. We may ask you to verify your identity for security purposes

We will process your request within 7 business days and confirm once your account has been deleted.

Option 3: Submit a Deletion Request Form

You can also submit a deletion request using the form below:

What Happens After Deletion

• Immediate: Your account will be deactivated and you will be signed out
• Within 30 days: All your personal data will be permanently deleted from our servers
• Up to 90 days: Your data may remain in encrypted backups, which are automatically overwritten
• Retained: Anonymized, aggregated data that cannot identify you may be retained for analytics

What About Shared Content?

When you delete your account:

• Posts you've made in book clubs or the social feed will be deleted
• Comments you've made on others' posts will be deleted
• Messages you've sent to other users will be deleted from your side; recipients may still have copies
• Challenges you created will be ended and removed
• Book clubs you created will be transferred to the next admin, or deleted if you're the only member
