Frequently Asked Questions
Getting started is easy! Download Zain from the App Store or Google Play, create an account using your email or sign in with Apple/Google, and follow the onboarding flow. You'll be asked about your interests and goals, and Zain will suggest habits to help you get started. You can always customize everything later in the app settings.
The Free plan gives you access to core features: up to 5 habits, 1 book at a time, basic notes, and community features.
The Pro plan unlocks everything: unlimited habits, unlimited books and collections, checklist habits, Apple Watch & fitness sync, deep insights & analytics, priority support, and an ad-free experience. Pro is available for $29.99/year (currently 50% off at launch!) or $4.99/month.
When you start a Pro subscription, you get 7 days free to try all Pro features. No payment is charged during the trial. You'll receive a reminder on Day 5 before your trial ends. If you decide Pro isn't for you, simply cancel before Day 7 and you won't be charged. You can cancel anytime through your Apple ID or Google Play account settings.
On iOS: Go to Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions > Zain > Cancel Subscription
On Android: Go to Google Play Store > Menu > Subscriptions > Zain > Cancel
Your Pro features will remain active until the end of your current billing period. We cannot process cancellations directly - it must be done through Apple or Google.
Refunds are processed through the store where you made your purchase:
iOS: Visit reportaproblem.apple.com or contact Apple Support
Android: Go to Google Play Store > Account > Purchase History > Zain > Request Refund, or contact Google Play Support
Zain Pro can sync with Apple Health (iOS) and Google Fit (Android). To connect:
- Go to Settings in the Zain app
- Tap "Fitness Integration" or "Connected Devices"
- Select your fitness platform and grant permission
- Choose which activities to link to your habits
Your fitness data stays private and is only used to track your habits. You can disconnect at any time.
Book clubs are a great way to read together with friends! To join a book club:
- Go to the Reading section in the app
- Tap "Book Clubs"
- Browse public clubs or enter an invite code from a friend
To create your own book club, tap the "+" button in the Book Clubs section. You can make it public or private (invite-only).
Habit challenges are a fun way to stay accountable! To challenge a friend:
- Make sure you're connected as friends in the app
- Go to any habit and tap the "Challenge" button
- Select which friend(s) to challenge
- Set the duration and start date
You can track your progress against your friends on the challenge leaderboard!
Prayer times are calculated based on your location using standard Islamic calculation methods. You can customize the calculation method in Settings > Prayer Settings. For accurate times, make sure location services are enabled for Zain. Times are calculated locally on your device and adjust automatically for daylight saving time.
Absolutely. Your privacy is our priority:
- All data is encrypted in transit and at rest
- We never sell your personal information
- Health and fitness data is never shared with advertisers
- You can export or delete your data at any time
- Private content stays private unless you choose to share it

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time. Go to Settings > Account > Delete Account in the app, or visit our Account Deletion page for detailed instructions. Please note that account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
We understand how frustrating it is to lose a streak! While we can't modify past data, we believe streaks are about building consistency, not perfection. Missing a day doesn't erase the progress you've made. Consider using the "Pause Habit" feature when you know you'll be unavailable (like during travel or illness) to protect your streak.
If your data isn't syncing:
- Make sure you're signed in with the same account on all devices
- Check that you have an internet connection
- Try pulling down to refresh on the main screen
- Force close and reopen the app
- If the issue persists, sign out and sign back in
